It Gets Worse of the Day: YouTube sensation Rebecca Black was forced to leave her school after bullying became too much to bear.

The seventh grader was pulled out of school by her mother, Georgina Marquez, who is now homeschooling the embattled teen.

Referring to her harassing classmates, Black told ABC News “When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice … Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?”

Marquez told ABC News she also wanted to give Black “more time to focus on her career.”

Ugh.

I really do feel bad for her.

She’s not a bad person and from what I know her parents paid the studio money so they would do this for her. I’m not even sure how into this “career” she is and it’s such a shame that she’ll probably be known as the “Friday girl” for most of her life because she does seem like such a nice girl. :/

Also, she actually isn’t that bad of a singer. She just needs the right song. Friday was just a really terrible song for her. But when I watched her do an acoustic version of the song, it wasn’t that bad.

She didn’t do anything to herself. She paid a music company to write her a song and make a video. All she had to do was sing.

They could’ve easily told her that her voice was to nasally, and I’m sure there’re production processes which can remedy that. They also could’ve spent more time and money on the music video.

I feel the blame falls solely on the company.

Ugh, ugh, ugh, the victim blaming, why.

It is absolutely not Rebecca’s fault, it is never the victim’s fault. I don’t think the company is necessarily to blame, either, but I do agree that they could have worked harder to make it better.

But Rebecca didn’t write the song, her parents paid a company to record this for her, and she was made fun of for it. The blame rests solely on the shoulders of the bullies. There were certainly things that could have been done by Rebecca or the company or her parents (and I could most certainly be wrong but from what I’ve seen, her parents seem like the only ones who really care about this career thing) to avoid this, but that doesn’t change the fact that this was absolutely, positively nobody’s fault but the aggressors, and certainly not Rebecca’s.
